Electronics Recycling

Need to recycle an old PC, laptop, fax machine, printer, or TV?  There are many ways to deal with electronic waste, some more ethically responsible than others.  You can call your local trash company for more information on how to handle this.  But it is much better to recycle electronic products, some of which can be reused, rather than to throw it into the trash.  The situation for CRT monitors and old TV sets is not cheap now, and it costs about ~$1 per diagonal inch to pay for them to be recycled.  This cost has been going up gradually for the past several years, and many recyclers do not accept them any longer, for any price.  It is recommended that any CRT based monitor or TV be recycled as soon as possible, as they contain large amounts of lead, which can be hazardous if not disposed of properly.

Metech Recycling

Metech acquired Denver based GRX Recycling in 2009.  They are a very responsible handler of recyclable electronics.  They have programs where you can ship electronics to them for a flat fee, or you can bring it to their collection facility in Denver.  You can contact them at 720-377-7700 or go to their website at http://www.metechrecycling.com/ for more information.
